2013 - Seumanutafa Loligi Family Reunion

Yes the 2013 Auckland family reunion for a few faithful members continued despite the sparse marketing campaign this year of the event. Next year generation 3 of the Auckland descendants of the Seumanutafa Loligi and Simeanamulu lineage shall be responsible for organising all of the activities for the family reunion and relieving the generation 2 members who despite their enthusiasm and humour also recognise the need not just for retirement but the need for new leaders to  take centre stage to ensure family continuity of genealogical knowledge, family histories and traditional arts.

At the heart of the family reunions each year are the plans for rebuilding the family home on the Apia land belonging to the all of the descendants of Seumanutafa Loligi and Simeanamulu. Cyclone Evan in December 2012 lavished devastating damage to the old homestead which is now receiving some professional intervention from an architect for a new design that will weather what appears to be ongoing cyclonic visitations to the island of Samoa. This is the year of "CHANGE",  the family homestead shall be rebuilt and landscaped.

Thankyou to those who turned up on the 26th January 2013. It was a wonderful day full of impromptu skits and items. There is no end to the artistic talents of the extended family.
